Howard Luxhoj, PE, President/CEO

Mr. Luxhoj is the CEO of Transmap Corporation. He has more than 13 years management level experience in transportation engineering. Mr. Luxhoj has expert knowledge of GIS products, database tools, asset management databases and most commercial asset management systems. He is also well schooled in the requirements pertaining to GASB-34 and NPDES, legacy system databases, project consulting, system implementation, training and customer support. Mr. Luxhoj has managed professional and technical staff for data collection, roadway asset inventory and system integration. He has also developed and implemented project-specific quality control measures for condition assessment of infrastructure and has been responsible for asset data creation on numerous Transmap projects nationwide.
Craig Schorling, GISP – Vice President

Mr. Schorling provides Transmap with sound fundamentals in both GIS project management and client development. He employs his extensive experience with ESRI products, database tools, asset management databases, commercial asset management systems, project consulting, system implementation and training to provide project management for Transmap’s many clients. His background includes 10 years of experience in a management capacity and a combined 14 years of experience using and developing GIS tools. He has also has experience running the mobile mapping vehicle, asset collection software and CMMS implementation.
As Vice President, Mr. Schorling has worked primarily with municipalities and counties to improve their asset management systems with Transmap’s unique approach and high quality project deliverables. Mr. Schorling’s skills include project management, public speaking, team coordination and data management.

Kurt Novak, Ph.D., Founder & Chairman

Dr. Novak formed Transmap in 1994 as a spin-off from the Ohio State University Center for Mapping. He was responsible for the development and implementation of all of Transmap’s core technology, such as the ON-SIGHT mobile mapping system. He served as CEO of Transmap from 1994 to 2003, leading the company through 2 rounds of venture investments and introducing mobile mapping technology to the local government marketplace. In 2003 Dr. Novak became chairman and chief technology officer of Transmap. He continues to lead the company’s strategic marketing initiatives, as well as technology development and consulting projects focusing on GPS accuracy studies, automation of digital image analysis, and the implementation of linear reference systems for Web GIS.
