Pavement Management 2.0 is a comprehensive solution to street and roadway maintenance. It combines these 5 critical elements that go far beyond traditional condition surveys and paper condition tables:
- A Hybrid Approach of field data collection combines our ON-SIGHT™ mobile mapping system with select field inspections. It insures fast road surveys and highly repeatable condition ratings. Our professional engineers analyze field data and provide detailed condition ratings linked to road center-lines on a map.
- Online Reporting provides condition data in various formats, from simple rating tables of road segments to printed and online, color-coded road center line maps that are hosted for you in a WebGIS. Users can access the GIS through a standard web browsers.
- Onsite Support includes setup and “bootcamp” training of your staff at your facility using your data.
- Customized Training is offered for specific pavement management software programs, such as MicroPaver™ and StreetSaver®, or any other asset management system.
- The Latest Hardware & Software guarantees superior results. We always strive to improve our technology. That’s why we employ high-definition, digital cameras, the latest LiDAR scanners, and top-of-the-line inertial navigation systems.
Transmap Pavement Management Solutions
Surface Distress Analysis
The core of any network level, pavement management system is Street Surface Distress Analysis. It analyzes the severity of cracks in the road surface and computes a pavement condition index (PCI) for each street segment. Based on the PCI, we can prepare accurate rehabilitation plans and budgets.
Transmap also offers Non-Destructive Testing for project level pavement analysis, using falling weight deflectometers and ground penetrating radar.
MicroPAVER™ Implementation & Training
Our pavement engineers are masters of pavement management software. Most of our in-house projects run on MicroPAVER™. Transmap offers training, onsite installation and consulting, so you can get the most out of your pavement management software.
StreetSaver® Online Pavement Management
If you want to run your pavement management system online, then StreetSaver® is perfect for you. Originally developed by the Metropolitan Transportation Commission of the Bay Area, StreetSaver® is now available all over the country. It offers an affordable pavement management solution for cities and counties everywhere. Transmap has extensive experience implementing distress surveys with StreetSaver®.
Legacy Data Integration
When looking at Pavement Management, it is important to preserve your existing, legacy data. Many vendors will tell you to discard legacy data. Transmap enhances your historical data by linking them to geo-locations in a GIS.
If you have legacy data we can combine them with the new information in a GIS. We create reports, maps and databases for you, using software applications of your choice, such as: ArcGIS, MicroPaver, StreetSaver, Cityworks, CarteGraph and many others.
Finally, we maintain and update the data on a regular basis and help you prepare the reports and proposals you need to get your rehabilitation budgets approved every time.
Budgets & Funding
Many transportation agencies are under-funded. Often this is a result of budget requests that are incomplete and based on estimates.
Transmap’s Pavement Management system will substantially increase your chance of getting your funding request approved. It provides detailed reports based on actual data to submit accurate budget requests.
Federal and State funds are available for special projects or highway upgrades. Most of these funds go to communities that provide accurate data to support their current needs and document roadway conditions.
Transmap enables you to document and defend your funding requests.
No longer will you submit your funding proposals based on vague estimates, but substantiated by detailed reports and maps.
Compliance with government regulations and industry standards is of critical importance. Funding is often based on compliance with these regulations.
Transmap’s asset reports enable GASB 34 compliance, not only for road surfaces, but for all of your road-side assets, including traffic signs and signals, ADA ramps, stormwater features and utility infrastructure.
Pavement Reporting & Workflow
Better reporting results in better planning. Better planning results in better funding. Comprehensive condition reports will help you perform routine maintenance as well as replacement projects in a pro-active way, rather than based on arbitrary schedules. Data can be shared between work groups and departments. Transmap gives you the ability to better define and manage outsourced vendor contracts.
Transmap’s pavement management system will allow you to accurately implement work orders. With a work order management system, your crews will spend more time performing constructive work and less time searching for assets.
