Transmap Celebrates Thirty Years of Pavement and Asset Management
Leading the Way in Pavement and Asset Management For Over 30 Years
At TransMap, we recently reached another milestone in our company history - 30 years of providing professional and technical pavement and asset management support services to the transportation industry. Founded in July of 1994 by Dr. Kurt Novak as a spin-off from the Ohio State University Center for Mapping, in 2002, Transmap graduated from the business incubator at Ohio State, Tech Columbus, and has been an industry-leading provider of pavement and asset management services to the transportation industry ever since!
The Transmap Story
From humble beginnings in 1994, Transmap has grown into a national provider of transportation services directed toward city and county-owned transportation systems. We provide the highest quality infrastructure management solutions. Transmap specializes in mobile data collection, processing, analysis, and inventory of roadway assets, which includes pavement, signs, traffic signals, paint striping, curbs, trees, streetlights, and more.
Over the past three decades, Transmap has collected and implemented data into pavement and asset management solutions that municipalities run nationwide. Since the beginning, they have delivered the highest quality infrastructure management solutions for city and county-owned systems.
State-of-the-Art Technology for Pavement and Asset Management
Transmap has become an industry leader due to its innovative technological approach to data acquisition and analysis. Our ON-SIGHT data collection includes laser crack measuring, 360-degree cameras, thermal infrared (FLIR) cameras, and LiDAR combined with high-precision GPS, making for an unbeatable and cost-effective way to perform repeatable, accurate data collection.
In addition to being recognized as a leading innovator in mobile mapping, Transmap has developed a powerful application called SLICER that analyses distress data and processes it into quantifiable distress extent and severity data, which allows their clients to understand the importance of repairs needed and the actual condition of assets. This innovative software is designed around the industry standard ASTM D6433-21 and ASTM E3303 data collection protocols. It is supplemented by artificial intelligence and machine learning used to process and analyze the tremendous amount of data collected.
Our state-of-the-art technology and equipment are all regularly updated to exceed industry standards. Our fleet of mobile mapping vehicles, high-definition imagery, web-based implementation, and our emphasis and commitment to green operations make us a progressive specialist focused on providing results for our clients.
