Sarasota, Florida
The City of Sarasota is the county seat of Sarasota County, Florida. Its city limits include Sarasota Bay and several barrier islands between the bay and the Gulf of Mexico. In the 2020 census, Sarasota had a population of 54,842.
Since 2009, the City of Sarasota has been a member of the Transmap community, starting with our first pavement analysis covering 470 miles. In 2010, we returned to perform an asset inspection, which involved cataloging city assets such as signs, signals, and pavement markings. This data was then integrated into CarteGraph (OPENGOV) for the city's use.
In 2014, we were again hired to conduct a pavement and asset analysis over 475 miles, including traffic assets like manholes, water valves, and inlets. We also developed a 5-year work plan for the city. In 2020, we completed another analysis of 481 miles of roadway and created an updated 5-year plan. The following year, in 2021, we expanded our asset analysis to include signs, sidewalks, crosswalks, markings, striping, and streetlights, while also addressing sidewalk failures.
In 2024, we returned for a pavement analysis of 453 miles and then created a new 5-year plan for the city.
